The Opheleia Foundation
Providing Faith, Hope and Charity

Welcome to Opheleia.  The word opheleia in Greek means; benefit.  Opheleia was founded by the Reverend Philip Badolato in order to aid poor Christians in the world.  Philip started with a small outreach program of sending Bibles to the missionaries and pastors and also to many older children and young adults.  In doing this he also found that even more was needed in the way of funding for teaching facilities, housing and the care of orphans.  The countries in Africa and throughout Asia and Haiti are in desperate need of these and many other necessities for daily life.  The plight of the unfortunate people of the world was greater than one man could accomplish on his own, it was clearly evident that a charitable foundation would provide the only means necessary to counter these ever growing problems.  At this time in the country of Nepal the missionaries are in great need of help.  This country has just recently allowed Christianity to be practiced there.  It is predominately Hindu and it will take all of those that come in the name of Jesus Christ to help those that are working to convert the Nepali people to Christianity.  This is something that Jesus asked all in His name to help accomplish, to spread the "Good News" of His Gospel to the four corners of the earth.

Our foundation is completely at the mercy of people from all walks of life for its success in helping the poor and forgotten of this world, as well as those that are unknowning of Christ.  We are no more than beggars, for without the donations from those that have  around the world, we would be unable to help those that have notAlthough  we are a Christian based organization; this foundation would not refuse help to anyone in need regardless of faith.

We are most gratefully thankful to all the sponsors of this foundation and may the outpouring of God's flowing grace be upon them all.

This foundation is unlike most Charitable Organizations you will find.  I do not believe in creating a relationship with government for the sake of funding.  We will not give up the freedoms granted to religious organizations for any price.  Here at Opheleia we would rather "rend unto Caesar that which is Caesars", than accept a non- profit status of 501-3C.  We are very aware that this will hamper our efforts in helping the world in Christ's name, but just as He believed in paying His taxes and not being commited to government; so do we. We thank you all so very much and may the outpouring of Our Father's benevolent grace be upon you.
